 Antarctica
When you think about Antarctica you probably think about it as a death trap but when you look into the
walls of the ice you will find a beautiful place. But there are some downsides.

How hard is it to get a job in Antarctica? Well before you can even  go to Antarctica you need to go to a
happy camper school. Happy campers school is for all people who are going to Antarctica. It prepares
them for the harsh conditions, how to stay hydrated and build a survival shelter. You can apply for a job
as a scientific researcher, and member of the medical staff. Or a maintenance worker.

How to protect your house in Antarctica. Most of the homes are built on hydraulic stilts so you can lift
the homes up so the snow will go under and around the home instead of going over it. They also have
special homes so they do not freeze.

In Antarctica, they have a race called the race around the world. It is called that because they go through
all the time zones in the world. They can not run it because of the high altitude so they use snowmobiles
and other missionaries, and sometimes even sled dogs.

In conclusion, I think Antarctica is a lovely place but very dangerous so I hope you learnt something
about Antarctica. And what you need to survive and adapt in Antarctica.

Trench Warfare
World War One was a tough primitive time of war - basic one to one fighting with no nuclear weapons but there were some bombs during the war. Trench warfare was used to shelter the soldiers from gun fires, explosions and by limiting the number of gases getting into the trenches.

Firstly World War One is very muddy,  and because of that the soldiers got a very gross infection called trench foot, and some of the worst cases ended up having to be amputated. But some people just had a little infection. Some of the trenches had wood at the bottom to prevent trench foot.

In the trenches, all sorts of things lived in the trenches including a big rat called a trench rat. Trench rats are extremely big and they fed on mostly meat but in the trenches, they would eat the leftover food out of the tins. Some soldiers said that they could hear the tins rattling at night also some rats would eat the dead people's eyes and eat away at the people's feet if they had trench foot.

In conclusion, the trenches were not a nice place to be, a lot of people died in the war and it is important that we respect the people that served for our country in the war.

Earthquake

Earthquake

Do you know how an earthquake occurs?
If you don’t please keep on reading and learn about
earthquakes and how they form

What causes an earthquake
An earthquake is caused by a  slip on a fault line.
When the stress on the edge comes over the friction,
there is an Earthquake that puts out lots of energy in
waves that travel through the earth's
crust and cause the shaking that we feel.
In California, there are two plates, the Pacific
Plate and the North American Plate.

What place has had the most earthquakes?
Indonesia is in a very active earthquake zone,
but by virtue of its larger size than Japan,
it has more total earthquakes.

Who founded out about Earthquakes
Robert Hooke said that earthquakes are l
and movements that go through the ground in waves.

Facts about Earthquakes

The largest earthquake ever recorded in the world was in Chile in
1960.
They can cause huge waves in the ocean called tsunamis.

The movement of tectonic plates has formed large mountains
like the Himalayas.
